James Rawlingson

Chairman

James was formerly Group CFO of Arix Bioscience plc – a venture capital style business - which he joined as a start up in 2016 and took public in 2017 on the London Stock Exchange main market. During his tenure Arix raised £250M and built a portfolio of 17 young biotech companies. In 2018 four of these companies were successfully floated on the Nasdaq exchange

James was also Chairman of Arix Capital Management, a fund manager running a biotech fund on behalf of the Welsh government, and was on the board of Arix Bioscience Inc. a biotech operating company based in New York. Previous to this James enjoyed a long executive and non-executive career in financial services including roles at Charles Stanley plc, Coutts and UBS where he spent 2 years based in Zurich in a strategic role.

James is currently a non executive director on the boards of Citibank UK and Wilton Park which is an Arms Length Body of the British Foreign Office. He is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments.
